Developing the arts.
Whilst J.C. Jacobsen, was an advocate of science, his son Carl Jacobsen was passionate about the arts. Carl believed that art should be accessible to all and that it had the ability to make a positive impact on life and our world. It was for this reason that in 1902, Carl established the NY Carlsberg Foundation, as an extension of the Carlsberg Foundation, to support and champion projects in this area.
Today, still shaped by Carl’s passion and energy, the NY Carlsberg Foundation continues this purpose with the aim to promote, enhance and develop the role of art in Danish society.
