Our best packaging yet? Probably.

No Handle. No Plastic Rings.

When we launched our Snap Pack, we were able to remove plastic rings from our Carlsberg Danish Pilsner packaging in the UK.  Now, we have gone a step further by removing the handle from our Carlsberg Danish Pilsner Snap Packs. We aim to remove over 20 tonnes of plastic out of circulation by June 2025*.

With no handle, no plastic rings and no cardboard, is the Snap Pack you take home with you is our best packaging yet? Probably.

*Carlsberg aim to remove over 20 tonnes of plastic from circulation by June 2025, through the removal of the plastic handle on their snap pack product.

Carlsberg Marstons Brewing Company (CMBC) has removed the plastic handles from its 'Snap Pack' 4pk products across the Carlsberg Portfolio (Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, Carlsberg Export, Carlsberg Special Brew).  CMBC forecasts this will remove over 20 tonnes of plastic by June 2025.

CMBC calculated the weight of the plastic handle to identify the plastic savings.  Forecast is then based on the estimated beer sales from May 2024 to May 2025 for all Carlsberg 4pk formats (Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, Carlsberg Export & Carlsberg Special Brew).  Plastic savings per 4pk has been multiplied by the forecast figure to provide total estimated plastic savings of 21.4 tonnes for May 2024 to May 2025.
